The Checkout section controls how customers authenticate, provide information, and complete their purchases. Proper checkout configuration helps reduce friction, improve conversions, and ensure accurate order processing.
Customer Account Settings¶
These settings define how customers log in and identify themselves during checkout.
Available options¶
- Show login link in storefront and checkout
Allows customers to log in from the store and checkout pages. - Require all customers to log in before checkout
Forces account login before placing an order. - Login and sign up with mobile number
Enables mobile-based authentication for faster checkout.
Best practice¶
- Use mobile login for markets where OTP-based authentication is common.
- Require login only if customer accounts are essential to your workflow.
Order Processing¶
Controls validation and fulfillment behavior during and after checkout.
While the customer is checking out¶
- Billing address required
Ensures billing information is collected for every order. - Use shipping address as billing address by default
Reduces customer effort while allowing edits. - Require a confirmation step
Customers must review order details before placing the order.
After an order has been paid¶
Choose how orders are fulfilled once payment is successful:
- Automatically fulfill the order’s line items
- Automatically fulfill only gift cards
- Don’t fulfill any line items automatically (manual fulfillment)
Order updates via SMS¶
- Enable Send order updates over SMS to notify customers about order status changes.
