Domains

Domains allow you to connect a custom domain to your Shoptsy store, giving your business a professional and branded online presence.

You can use your own domain (e.g. example.com) instead of the default Shoptsy storefront URL.

Overview

From the Domains section, you can:

  • Connect an existing domain you already own
  • Assign the domain to your online store
  • Manage how customers access your storefront
  • Support region or market-specific domains (if configured)

Domains work seamlessly with Markets, Languages, and Checkout.

  • Ensure DNS records are entered exactly as provided
  • Allow up to 24 hours for DNS propagation
  • Avoid changing DNS records frequently during setup
  • Use separate domains for different markets if needed

Common Issues & Fixes

Domain not connecting - Verify DNS records are correct - Ensure the domain is not proxied incorrectly - Check if DNS propagation is complete

SSL not active - Wait for automatic SSL provisioning - Ensure domain verification is successful

Store not loading - Confirm the domain target is set to Online Store - Check market and language routing settings

  • Markets – Assign domains per region
  • Languages – Language-specific storefront URLs
  • Checkout – Secure checkout under your domain
  • Shipping & Delivery – Checkout availability per region

Next Steps

  • Assign the domain to a market (if applicable)
  • Review language and localization settings
