Markets

Markets let you sell to different countries or regions with localized pricing, currency, and performance tracking.
Each market represents a region where your store operates and accepts orders.

Overview

From the Markets section, you can: - Manage your primary selling market - Add additional regional markets - Activate or deactivate markets as needed - View market-wise sales performance and conversion metrics

Markets work closely with currencies, shipping, taxes, and warehouses to deliver a localized shopping experience.

Primary Market

The primary market is your default selling region.

Key characteristics

  • Always active
  • Uses your store’s default currency
  • Acts as the fallback market when no other market applies
  • Cannot be deleted

Performance insights

For the primary market, you can view:

  • Total number of orders
  • Percentage contribution to total sales
  • Conversion rate
  • Average order value (AOV)

These metrics help you understand how your core market is performing.

Other Markets

Other markets allow you to sell to additional countries or regions beyond your primary market.

Market status

  • Active – Customers from this region can place orders
  • Inactive – Market exists but does not accept new orders

Inactive markets are useful for testing or preparing future expansion.

Market Metrics

Each market displays:

  • Orders placed from the region
  • Share of total sales
  • Conversion rate
  • Market-specific average order value

Metrics update automatically based on customer activity.

Adding a New Market

Click Add market to:

  • Select a country or region
  • Assign a currency
  • Configure availability settings

Once added, markets can be activated when ready.

Market Preferences

Use Preferences to control:

  • Default market behavior
  • Market detection logic
  • Region-based storefront handling

Preferences help ensure customers are routed to the correct market automatically.

Best Practices

  • Keep one clear primary market
  • Activate only markets you’re ready to fulfill orders for
  • Ensure shipping, taxes, and warehouses support each market
  • Monitor conversion rates to identify growth opportunities
  • Use inactive markets for staging and testing
