Maintenance Mode¶
Maintenance Mode helps you temporarily pause customer access while you update your store.
This is useful when you are:
- updating theme or layout
- fixing checkout/payment settings
- doing bulk product edits
- testing major changes before launch
What customers see¶
When Maintenance Mode is enabled, visitors will see:
- a maintenance message (you can customize it)
- your store will be unavailable for checkout
What you can still do¶
Even in maintenance mode, you can:
- access the seller dashboard
- edit products and pages
- configure payments/shipping/taxes
- test internally (depending on configuration)
When to use it¶
Use Maintenance Mode when:¶
- you’re not ready to accept orders
- you are migrating from another platform
- you’re doing risky changes to checkout
Avoid enabling it when:¶
- you have running ads or campaigns driving traffic
- you are expecting high order volume
Before turning it off¶
- Place a test order
- Confirm payment methods work
- Confirm shipping rates are correct
- Ensure legal pages are published
Once everything looks good, disable Maintenance Mode to reopen your store.
