Cancellations¶
Order cancellations can happen before or after payment, depending on circumstances.
When orders can be cancelled¶
- Customer requests cancellation
- Payment fails or expires
- Item is unavailable
- Suspected fraud or incorrect order
Cancellation timing¶
Before fulfillment¶
- Order can be cancelled fully
- Inventory is released
- Refund may be initiated automatically
After partial fulfillment¶
- Only unshipped items can be cancelled
- Shipped items may require return instead
Refund handling¶
- Prepaid orders may trigger refunds
- COD orders may not require refund processing
Best practices¶
- Act quickly on cancellation requests
- Clearly communicate cancellation status
- Keep cancellation policies transparent
