Shipping & Delivery¶
The Shipping & Delivery section lets you control where you ship, how much you charge customers, and how delivery timelines are shown at checkout. Proper shipping configuration is required for customers to successfully complete checkout.
Important Notice¶
Customers won’t be able to check out
If no shipping or pickup options are configured, customers cannot complete checkout.
Make sure at least one shipping rate or local pickup option is enabled.
Shipping Rates¶
Shipping rates determine where you ship and how much customers pay for delivery.
General Shipping Rates¶
- Applies to all products by default
- Can be managed or customized per shipping profile
- Must include at least one active rate for checkout to work
Managing shipping rates¶
- Go to Settings → Shipping & delivery
- Click Manage under General Shipping Rates
- Add or edit shipping zones and rates
Shipping Zones¶
Shipping zones define destination regions and applicable rates.
Add a shipping zone¶
- Click Create shipping zone
- Enter a Zone name
- Select one or more countries or regions
- Save the zone
Zones allow you to: - Charge different rates by country or region - Control where products can be shipped - Apply region-specific shipping rules
Shipping Profiles¶
Shipping profiles let you group products with similar shipping rules.
Use cases¶
- Heavy or oversized products
- Fragile items
- International-only products
If a profile has no shipping rates, checkout will be blocked for products in that profile.
Processing Time¶
Processing time defines how long it takes to prepare an order before it is handed over to the carrier.
How it works¶
- Added to the carrier’s transit time
- Used to calculate estimated delivery dates at checkout
Configuration options¶
- Enable processing time at checkout
- Set processing duration (e.g. 2 business days)
- Define a start time
- Orders placed after this time count as next business day
Example¶
If processing time is 2 business days and transit time is 3 days, customers see an estimated delivery of 5 business days.
Local Pickup¶
Local pickup allows customers to collect orders from a physical location.
What you can do¶
- Enable or disable pickup per location
- Offer pickup as an alternative to shipping
- Reduce shipping costs for nearby customers
If pickup is disabled and no shipping rates exist, checkout will fail.
Best Practices¶
- Always configure at least one shipping zone
- Use processing time for accurate delivery expectations
- Separate products into different shipping profiles if needed
- Test checkout after adding or changing shipping rules
- Keep shipping rates updated for seasonal or carrier changes
Troubleshooting¶
Customers can’t check out¶
- Ensure at least one active shipping rate or pickup option exists
- Check that products are assigned to a valid shipping profile
- Verify shipping zones cover the customer’s region
Delivery dates look incorrect¶
- Review processing time settings
- Confirm carrier transit times
- Check start time cutoff logic
Summary¶
The Shipping & Delivery system helps you: - Control shipping availability and pricing - Set accurate delivery expectations - Support multiple regions and fulfillment flows - Ensure smooth checkout completion
Correct shipping setup is essential for both customer experience and order fulfillment.
