Shipment Tracking¶
Tracking keeps customers informed about the delivery status of their orders.
How tracking works¶
Once an order is shipped:
- A tracking number is generated
- A tracking link is shared with the customer
- Order status updates as the shipment moves
Tracking sources¶
Tracking updates may come from:
- integrated courier partners
- manual tracking entries
- third-party tracking links
Customer experience¶
Customers can:
- view tracking status from order emails
- check shipment progress from order history
- receive delivery notifications (if enabled)
Common tracking statuses¶
- Picked up
- In transit
- Out for delivery
- Delivered
- Delayed or exception
Best practices¶
- Always add tracking when available
- Monitor delayed shipments
- Proactively inform customers about delivery issues
